Dr. Calderón is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at California State University, Fresno, and a faculty member in the School Psychology graduate program. His main areas of interest and expertise are:
(1) Bilingual and multicultural school psychology practice issues: Assessment validity; culturally-responsive prevention and intervention; school-family collaboration; acculturation/enculturation processes and outcomes related to mental health and academic achievement; stereotyping, prejudice, discrimination, and identity development.
(2) Assessment and diagnosis of mathematics learning problems.
Dr. Calderón is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist; he previously served as a bilingual school psychologist in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area, working with preschool, elementary, middle school, and high school students. He earned his doctoral degree (PhD) in educational psychology with an emphasis in school psychology, and a master's degree (MA) in psychology with an emphasis in social psychology at Arizona State University. He earned his bachelor's degree in psychology with minors in music and Spanish at La Sierra University, in Riverside, California.
